Karen Hoffman

I was born and raised in rural Browerville, Minnesota. I am the daughter of Daniel and Sharilyn Remer. During high school and college summers, I worked at Banta Publications (now RR Donnelly) in various positions including the afternoon receptionist and material filer. My other job experiences include being a teacher's assistant to three teachers at Alexandria Technical College, receptionist at William Mitchell College of Law, Westlaw student representative, and a law clerk and attorney at G. Marlene Clark, P.A.

I am a graduate of Alexandria Technical College now known as Alexandria Technical and Community College with two A.A.S. degrees: legal administrative assistant and paralegal. I am a graduate of Southwest State University in Marshall with a B.A.S. degree in business management. I received my Minnesota Juris Doctor from William Mitchell College of Law (now Mitchell Hamline School of Law), located in St. Paul, Minnesota. Throughout law school and practice, I have focused on family law and estate planning.

I am the secretary for the Covenant Woman group at Community Covenant Church in Upsala. I am also a member of the leadership team at my church. In 2016-2017, I was on the search committee to find a new pastor at my church. I am a former president of the Long Prairie Rotary Club. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, photography, and traveling.

I currently have part-time office hours to allow me to spend time and care for my family.
